Testing applications is challenging because repeatable tests require additional systems, such as databases in a specific state. Despite the fact that Jakarta EE doesn't have any testing specifications, you can perform integration testing for your applications by using several libraries. In this livestream, we take a look at the libraries with an example and the problems each of them has. In addition, we examine the Testcontainers framework, which allows developers to test real-world applications by deploying them in containers using the production runtime and its dependent systems. An application can be tested and remotely debugged using one of the libraries we explore in the livestream.
