Optimizing JetBrains Marketplace Plugin Page. Testing IntelliJ Plugins
In this new episode in our series for plugin developers, we’ll talk about how you can make your plugin better by testing it with ide-probe, and then how to market it effectively on JetBrains Marketplace. By building plugins, developers can extend the core functionality of JetBrains IDEs. For example, they can add support for a programming language or framework, integrate additional version control systems and other technologies, and more. There are many awesome plugins out there, but what some authors underestimate is the content of their plugin page – potentially a very effective marketing tool. By failing to give users a clear indication of what they should expect from a plugin, they’re missing out on increasing their plugin’s downloads. So, in the first part of the webinar, Anna will give you some tips about how to attract more users to your plugin by improving your plugin page on JetBrains Marketplace. In the second, technical part, our guest speaker Łukasz from Virtus Lab will showcase ide-probe – a framework for testing plugins for IntelliJ-based IDEs, both locally and in a CI tool. He will go into detail about what problems it addresses, its architecture, and its features.
